H. Scott Roth (b. 1989, Bay Area) is an Oakland-based artist whose digital work feels quietly alive.
Trained in film at California State University, Long Beach and later in art and sound design in Hamburg, he returned to California in 2012 and has since balanced freelance cinematography and editing with a focused digital studio practice.
His signature “soft op” pieces generate subtle vibrations, flowing motion, and gentle perceptual shifts. They quietly reference the optical experiments of mid-20th-century artists while introducing a dreamy, almost psychedelic sense of hidden depth.
Bringing a filmmaker’s eye to generative processes, Roth has minted and exhibited NFT series on Ethereum since 2020 and on Tezos since 2021.
